Automotive Skills & Special Needs

5th Mar 2019

A group of learners from a Special Needs Educational School come to Innov8 every week to learn about car maintenance as part of a Skills-For-Life course. They are a group of post 16 aged 16-18 years, they are working on Service items and Maintenance of vehicles.

So far, on the course, they have raised a Nissan Micra using a Hydraulic Jack and supported it on axle stands. They were able to remove and replace wheels from the Vehicle.

The group are starting to learn the names of tools and equipment. We are also helping them understand the need for safety boots and overalls.

At the end of the session they cleaned the tools they used and returned them to the tool cabinet!

Over all, a this group are making brilliant progress!
