Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Employers of 16 to 18 year-olds: The Levy Explained

Government extend Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Employers of apprentices aged 16 to 18.

The £1000 Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Employers supports businesses that would not otherwise be in a position to recruit individuals aged 16 to 18 into employment through the Apprenticeship programme.

The Grant will be offered to those employers who are eligible to receive it and paid in two instalments of £500, the first after 3 month and the second when the apprentice completes 12 months of training.

The Grant has already helped thousands of employers to grow their business by employing an apprentice.

The government launched its apprenticeship levy in May 2017. The levy will require all employers in the UK with an annual wage bill of over £3 million to pay 0.5% of it towards funding apprenticeships.

Non Levy
The costs for each apprentice being trained by Innov8 for a non-levy paying employer will be either;

Fully funded by the ESFA – for 16-18 yr. old apprentices with an employer employing less than 50 employees.

Co-funded’ via the ESFA – the employer paying 10% for 16-18 yr. old apprentices if employing more than 50 employees or for all 19+ apprentices – Contact for further information.

Levy
The costs for each apprentice being trained by Innov8 for a levy paying employer will be agreed by Innov8 and the employer – Contact for further information.
